Macy's

So, I've gotten a few questions about my new job at Macy's.  Lets just say I hope I find a new job very soon.
I mean, there's a good chance I'll be there for a while, but I'm not giving up.  The agency I signed up for finding me a job, I have to call every Monday and I haven't since I got hired for Macy's...now I'm going to start up calling them again.  There's a few other job opportunities I'm going to follow up on as well that are seasonal, but so is Macy's.  I just need to talk to them about if they keep anyone after the holidays.  If they don't, then I'll stay at Macy's as they keep some people afterward.
The training really is lacking.  they're scheduling me very few hours.  often information given to me is contradictory.  and I haven't even done any recovery work, which is my actual job title.  I've been cashiering, which is fine except that others actually in that position get paid more than I do...and I haven't been trained in answering certain questions and finding the information as the actual sales associates/cashiers so it gets a bit frustrating.
The customers were awful both days I've worked...as I've only worked two days so far.
I mean, it could definitely get better, and I really hope it does as I have found a few nice people to talk to during my lunch break, but I'm never over in the Junior's and Ready to Wear area as they always keep more people scheduled that area, so they said I'd likely work in Bed and Bath and Kids the most...and the Kids people are nice, but not the two Bed and Bath people I worked with.

Otherwise, things are good.  I was having a super boring weekend all my friends in St. Cloud had plans.  At the end, Tiffany called me up and invited me to join me in her plans with her friends.  I feel bad that she invited out of guilt (which she shouldn't have felt at all) But I'm glad she did as I got to meet pretty much everyone she tells stories about today at the football gathering.  We watched the Vikings win with cheese fondue, deli/pickle rolls, meat, cheese with crackers, sloppy joes, several kids from couples :-b.  They were a good group of people and I'm real glad to be able to put faces and some personality to the stories.  She is truly a great person.

So -=- anyone paying attention to the MN politics? --well besides Jared? :-b
The whole Senate race of Coleman vs. Al Franken.  They're doing a recount because Coleman won by 220 votes.  And with 64% of votes recounted the difference has changed to a difference of only 120 votes.
It makes me laugh.  I find the whole thing entertaining --even though I'm still hoping Franken doesn't win, that would definitely be interesting.

Gave plasma for the first time on Friday.  Took a long time due to my lack of water intake and vein problems.  I'm giving again on Monday --hope it works out better. Instead of being at 6:45am, it's 10:15am.  That should help me drink enough water. I mean, if I get a chance to wake up leisurely, I like I did today, I often drink two glasses of water in the first half hour.  But when I have to get up early, I can chug down one before leaving the house, but that's about it :-b.

Thanksgiving is still up in the air.

My music collection is finally growing due to getting CDs from the library and ripping them on my computer :-b.  I rather like it...getting some older cds of groups I like, but before they were really big, so all new songs to me.  Got some unsual groups to try out because why not when they're free :-b.  Even got the Britney Spears  Blackout from Jan 2008.  That's ripping right now.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.
*hugs!*

So,
my first day at Macy's is tomorrow... of actually working.  Their training sucks.  like really sucks.
I'm suppose to wear a headset, and I have no idea where they are, what the codes are I'm suppose to respond to, and of course their meanings, how to use the headset, don't know the layout of the store :-b, not sure exactly where I'm suppose to check myself into.
All the stuff I do know what to do is from other jobs.  They really should work on their training.  I know in Orientation, several people had done the computer training already - like me... but haven't had retail jobs before so wasn't sure how to do anything.  I feel sorry for them when they're on the floor.
yep, that' all :-b
Oh, and highly likely I'll be alone for THanksgiving.  first time.

My grandmother's skin graft didn't take.
she went through so much to get the surgery.
I'm not quite sure how those things all take...but of course since she's doing radiation and such...she isn't going to heal either with those deep cuts. Infections are definitely gonna be a problem.

I wanna play stratego with someone right now.. NOW!!
but no one to play it with.  I bought a copy from Savers today (half off sale) --have a copy at home that I got long ago, but also...long ago I broke one of the pieces, so the other person would know the one with the blue stuff holding it together was the number 8 :-b.

I got a job at Macy's --yyyaayyyyy!!!!!!!!!!
sadly, the ONE day a year I cannot ask off because every single person has to not only work it, but work a 10 hour shift?  that's right -- December 20th ~~ Jared's wedding.
So so frustrating.  atleast I look forward to my job there and just love my manager.

[[Edit: 6:31am Wednesday Nov 12th]
Ahhh!!!! never thought this whole plasma thing would be so amazingly difficult.  All I'm trying to do is set up a simple check-up with the plasma nurse so I can start giving it.  They open at 5:30 am.  I started calling non-stop at 5:32 and finally didn't get a busy signal at 5:36am, but put on hold until 5:48 where I am told all openings next week are now filled.  Because I have such a long day tomorrow I can't be up at 5am without hurting my stamina for my first day of work followed by band and later needing to do some homework as I'm travelling to Dana's on Friday.  This' day three to try.  First time I obviously had no idea how any of this worked. Second day I called at 7am thinking that's when they openned- -and obviously filled.  I know it's simplier once I have the initial physical, but this' very frustrating.]

i held you in my arms
a thousand years ago
now you hold me...

don't you understand?
we shall die and meet
again, and say goodbye
again, and teach each other

the same gentleness
again and again.

Nothing exciting in my life.
still trying to get a job.  I have another interview tomorrow.
Military history is still interesting as ever :-b
I think I like the substitute a little more than the actual teacher :-b.
They're both awesome though.  Excellent teachers with such excitement in what they're teaching and are so good at explaining complicated things simple, with Lego's, or using people, or simple stories and analogies.  I wish I found other classes exciting to go to :-b
I've been enjoying watching NCIS on USA quite a bit lately.
My Grandma's surgery went well...she was in the hospital for 4 days unlike the 1 she thought :-b ...but it worked out.
On Halloween I called a few people and was smiling for days.  Thanks Liz and Justin :-b.
Halloween was tons of fun -- loved dressing up as a witch.
Glad the elections are over.  Yay for Obama.  I'm glad Al Franken didn't win MN Senate...voted for the independent guy (Dean)..who of course didn't win...but the republican Norm Coleman won.  VERY VERY tight race.  When I went to bed Coleman and Franken had 42% of the votes.  But thoses commercials were nonstop and annoying.  Thank god they've stopped.
I know...not an exciting update, but thought I'd give one nonetheless.
*hugs all!*
